Surgate Labs!

As CEO, Baris Simsek's background in building businesses provides Surgate Labs with the strategic leadership needed to increase company profitability and strengthen its global presence. Mr. Simsek founded Surgate Labs in April 2006 with his partners.

Prior to Surgate Labs, Mr. Simsek worked as "UNIX System Engineer" for many outstanding companies such as Bimel, Turcom and Telsim (prior to Vodafone Turkey). He also worked as Project Manager at Empatiq and did many VoIP projects.

He is one of the famous opensource voluntary in Turkey since 1996. He did many presentations, released many articles and developed some softwares. Mr. Simsek was the core team member of EnderUNIX from 2003 to 2007. He has 3 published books about qmail and FreeBSD.

Mr. Simsek holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the Karadeniz Technical University.

		Ahmet Semiz joined Surgate Labs as CFO in January 2007 to manage all aspects of finance and human resources.

		As Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ismail Yenigul reponsibility is to manage the projects as a one of the R&D Division members. Mr. Yenigul has nine years working experiences in IT field. He worked as Unix System Administrator and Software Developer at RT.NET, Oyak Teknoloji and Alcatel. He is one of the founders of Surgate Labs and "Acik Akademi Yayinlari". Mr. Yenigul published three books on Qmail and FreeBSD and also wrote many articles on Open Source Systems. He has developed open source projects on mailing. Mr. Yenigul holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the Istanbul Technical University.

		Murat Balaban is Surgate Labs'' co-founder and Chief Technology Officer responsible for the research and development of Surgate Labs' products. He is considered one of the pioneer open source activists in Turkiye. Mr. Balaban co-founded EnderUNIX open source team, which he has been in the core management team for 6 years, in year 2000 while he was studying at Management Information Systems at Bogazici (Bosphorus) University. Having received his B.Sc., he played several key roles in large scale projects such as Oyakbank ATM switch redesign and Turkish Armed Forces ID card project. He has been working as a senior researcher at TUBITAK UEAKE until he founded Surgate Labs with his collaegues. Mr. Balaban is the author of several world famous papers and open source utilities. He has one published book about FreeBSD Operating System.

		As Director of Professional Services, Omer Faruk Sen's responsibility is to coordinate support and services provided by Surgate Labs to the customers. Mr. Sen founded Surgate Labs in April 2006 with his partners. Prior to Surgate Labs Sen has worked as a System Administrator, Security Auditor at Tubitak UEKAE, Senior Support Engineer at Alcatel Lucent. Mr. Sen has 2 books published. First book is the first Turkish book ever publised for FreeBSD "Kurulum, Yonetim ve Servisleriyle FreeBSD Isletim Sistemi" and second one is "Ag Guvenligi Ipuclari". Sen was also the core team member of EnderUNIX from 2003 to 2007. Sen also given speeches about open source projects and is also interested and has deep knowledge of Solaris, *BSD and some other Unix Operating Systems. Mr. Sen holds a B.S. in Electronical and Communicational Engineering from the Yildiz Technical University.

		As a Director of Partners and Alliances Tugan Avcioglu has been working as R&D Project Manager since 2006. He has working experiences at Goldas Jewellery. Mr. Avcioglu is responsible form Partners and Alliances at Surgate Labs. He holds a BS in System Engineering from the Yeditepe University.
